Kampai from Ajinomoto
A delicious plum flavor, Kampai can be consumed directly from individual packets (and washed down with water) before drinking and, ideally, again before retiring for the night. Formulated with two key amino acids (the building blocks of protein), Kampai, which is the Japanese word for "Cheers!" contains 2,800 mg worth of alanine and glutamine. Research shows that supplementation with the ideal combination of these two amino acids helps support and expedite the body's natural metabolic processing of alcohol, while also helping to preserve the homeostatis of the liver. A healthy-functioning liver is important since it is the only organ in the body that metabolizes alcohol.
"Kampai is the result of years of intensive scientific research into the benefits of alanine and glutamine supplementation," says Dr. Kunio Torii of Ajinomoto Co., Inc.'s Institute of Life Sciences. "Many business and social occasions involve some amount of drinking, especially during the holiday season. Kampai is ideal for these occasions and, even more importantly, it supports long-term healthy liver function."
Kampai is not designed to promote drinking, nor does it prevent intoxication. Rather, Kampai helps support the body's natural ability to metabolize alcohol.
"At BED New York, nights are long and the party never seems to end -- especially when our specialty cocktails are flowing," says BED New York Operating Partner Dirk van Stockum. "Taking Kampai before and after drinking helps an old warhorse like me keep up with the younger generation to run one of Manhattan's hottest nighttime destinations. The long anticipated arrival of Kampai is sure to bring unmatched excitement to New York's party scene."
